Rwenzori Mountains, Uganda

The profit-for-purpose agribusiness, Agri Evolve, located in the Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda was founded in 2016 to support smallholder farmers. The company provides resources, training, and market access with ambitions of improving coffee quality, farmer income, and sustainable agricultural practices. 

A consistent problem found within the farmers based in the Rwenzoris was the lack of processing facilities coupled with unfair prices offered from traders. The founders of Agri Evolve sought to change this by introducing an outlet for farmers to sell their unprocessed product, whilst taking ownership of quality control. They guaranteed a fair market price while helping to secure a sustainable future for producers. 

Agri Evolve uses only ‘delayed cherries’ which consist of darker red coloured cherries, that are fully sundried on raised African beds. More than 1000 passionate farmers contribute to this naturally -processed ‘African Moon’ coffee, showcasing the quality and care behind every cup.
