The story behind the cup...
El Salvador, Cafe Tuxpal
We sourced this coffee from the prestigious Café Tuxpal, in the Santa Ana region of El Salvador. The family here own a small collection of farms and have been producing coffee since the 19th century. Six generations later, coffee remains the family's true passion and life's work.
Nestled around the Santa Ana volcano in the Apaneca Ilamatepec mountain range, Café Tuxpal benefits from an exceptional microclimate that offers dry winters and warm summers - a rare phenomenon in a country dominated by tropical weather.
Only the ripest cherries are hand-picked, and then processed at the family-owned mill, ensuring quality control from start to finish. Café Tuxpal is proud to be Rainforest Alliance certified, and is committed to respecting workers, supporting local communities, and protecting the environment.
Café Tuxpal produces an outstanding level of specialty coffee, and their commitment to quality and innovation over the years has earned them a reputation for excellence within the industry. The result is a soft, well-rounded cup, with mouth-watering notes of sticky toffee and candied almonds.
